JOOLS HOLLAND: SAVING CUTTY SARK
July 2 sees Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra opening London’s exciting new live entertainment venue: the indigO2 which doubles up as a benefit for the Cutty Sark.
Following the fire that swept through the famous 19th century ship last month whichl is now undergoing a £25m restoration. Local Greenwich boy Jools Holland will be helping to rebuild the 150-year-old tea clipper as proceeds from the gig will be donated to the Cutty Sark Trust. In addition to this the ‘Inc Bar’ group in Greenwich, which will also have a bar within the O2, and be donating a percentage of its profits to the trust.
Performing tracks from his vast catalogue of hits, Jools will also be joined on stage by the star line-up of Lulu, Louise Marshall and soulstress Ruby Turner.
The night also sees the opening of London’s much-hyped new music venue, indigo2, whilst raising money for one of the capital's oldest landmarks.
